The Davidic Covenant (for teens)
❤ God called king David, 'A man after My Own heart!' What did He mean by this? Perhaps David sought hard after God, longing to know Him and understand His ways. In one of his prayers in Psalm 119 David says,
"How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to Your Word.
With my whole heart I seek You. Let me not wander from Your ways.
I have laid up Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you."
And David says in Psalm 42,
"As the deer longs for the water brook,
so my soul longs for You, O God."
Maybe David understood that a heart from God is a gift from Him as he prayed asking for such from God for his son and his people:
"So now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here,
make offerings willingly to You.
O Lord ... preserve this forever in the intentions of the heart of Your people,
and direct their heart to You;
and give to my son, Solomon, a perfect heart to keep Your commandments ...
and to build the temple for which I have made provision."
Are you bold enough to ask God to give you such a ❤ of love for Him?
