Abraham and the Lamb (for teens)

Abraham has been called the ‘father of faith’ as three major religions trace their origins through him.

True story –
A Muslim said to his Christian friend, ‘Jews believe that Abraham went to sacrifice Isaac to God, but Muslims believe that it was Ishmael, his first-born.’
The Christian asked, ‘So Jews believe that Isaac was to be the sacrifice and Muslims believe it was Ishmael? Do you know what Christians believe?’ as if to break the tie.
‘No, what do Christians believe?’
‘Christians believe that Jesus was the ram caught in the bush ... He was to be the Sacrifice that God would provide.’

'But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Do not reach out your hand against the boy, and do not do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering in the place of his son.' Genesis 22
